DAVID HILL: CORVETTE/GM CHIEF ENGINEER: Dave earned a BSME degree from Michigan Tech, followed with a MSE from the University of Michigan. He began his career with General Motors when he joined the Cadillac Division in 1965. He eventually was responsible for Cadillac’s Vehicle Development, becoming Chief Engineer for the Allante, Deville and Concourse automobiles. In 1992 he became the third Chief Engineer for the Corvette Division. He received additional responsibilities as VEHICLE LINE EXECUTIVE for Performance Cars in 1995. As “VLE” David had the responsibility for all aspects of the vehicle business from styling through manufacturing. The C5 and C6 generations of Corvettes were created and put into production on Dave’s watch..
WERNER MEIER: OWNER/MANAGER - MASTERWORKS AUTOMOTIVE SERVICES
a booming Corvette service and restoration facility in Madison Heights, Michigan. Werner completed a 30-year career as an automotive engineer at G.M. He has owned over 100 Corvettes and restored some of the most unique and desirable models, including 5 former GM Styling “Show Cars”. At Masterworks he and his 12 person staff specialize in repair and restoration of the first 3 generations of Corvettes. His presentations during our cruise will include seminars on how to purchase, maintain, restore and preserve your Corvette. He brings a wealth of knowledge to our program and promises to be one of the best speakers to date!
JOE BABIASZ has been a “Motorhead” since the age of 12 when he replaced a blown piston in his first car. After a multi-faceted engineering career with General Motors he retired to open a successful collector car restoration and retail facility in Eastpointe, Michigan. He has owned 13 Corvettes over the past years and is the current owner of a numbers matching 427 tri-power, 1968 black Corvette convertible and a 1966 small black 4 speed Corvette convertible. He is the creator of COLLECTOR CAR ENTERPRISE, a company that provides collector car seminars to the public. These seminars are aimed at helping those new to the collector car hobby get involved “without getting burned” in the process. He is also a partner in “Catch a Wave Productions” a company that produces car theme cruises.
